Gynaecological Cancer

Every woman is at risk for gynaecological cancer, the type of cancer that originates from a woman’s reproductive organs, and this risk increases with age. The process is defined by the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells in the cervix, ovaries, uterus and the vagina.

Gynaecological cancers have become a serious health issue for women in Cambodia. The uterine cancer is now the fourth most common cancer in women, followed by ovarian cancer, which is also an ever-increasing malignancy affecting women around the world. Procare Medical Center proposes Well Women Programme, which involves several tests such as a Physical Examination, Gynae Assessment, Pap Smear, and a Pelvic Ultrasound.Gynaecological Cancer Health Screening includes services such as a Pap Smear and Colposcopy for pap smear abnormalities. Extensive assessment is the key to be able to detect any neoplastic risk or threat.

Pre-Conception Health Screening

As many couples defer the age of childbearing into their thirties or forties, preconception care is becoming more important. The status of your health and your lifestyle have a significant effect on the progress and outcome of your pregnancy. This screening aims to identify and modify social and behavioral risks to prevent a complicated pregnancy. Aside from establishing maternal and perinatal health, it also includes precautionary measures to ensure healthy fetal development. This service encompasses different forms of assessments, such as blood tests to determine ovarian health, imaging of the womb and ovaries, as well as BMI and vital signs monitoring.

Antenatal Care, Intrapartum Care & Postnatal Care

These three stages of caring for an expectant mother is essential to ensure a smooth pregnancy, labour and recovery. This is a combined effort between the gynecologist and the expectant couple to avoid any complications. Each stage carries with it inherent risks, therefore the care plan comes with its own set of objectives so that it is customised to address the patient’s needs. With proper care, every stage of your pregnancy can be a beautiful and memorable experience.

Management of Fertility Issues

Dr Laure Fretin will do some specific fertility tests that aim to offer you a comprehensive picture of your reproductive health to evaluate your fertility.

Pelvic Floor Muscle Training

Pelvic-perineal dysfunctions, are the most common diseases in women after pregnancy. Urinary incontinence and genital prolapsy, often associated, are the most important consequences of childbirth (About one‐third of women have urinary incontinence (UI) and up to one‐tenth have faecal incontinence (FI) after childbirth) and are determined by specific alterations in the structure of neurological and musculo-fascial pelvic support.

Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is commonly recommended during pregnancy and after birth for both preventing and treating incontinence. The doctor will teach you some exercises and guide you in order to  build up and strengthen the pelvic floor muscles, so they can give a correct support to control your bladder and bowel and prevent any future incontinence.
